A great funky psych garage 45 with nice horns as well, love the double tracked drums on this. Recorded at Norman Petty’s legendary studio in Clovis, NM, the Trademarques 45 is another New Mexico recording from the Tommy Bee/Lance Records connection. The local success of “I Can Set You Free” prompted a band move to Los Angeles in the summer of ’68. Unfortunately for The Trademarques, the move did not lead to the big time as hoped. Although they gained high profile support slots opening up for Three Dog Night, Blood Sweat & Tears, Chicago, The Music Machine, Hoyt Axton, The Five Americans & others, by 1970 they were back playing bars in Albuquerque. They have an earlier 45 on Lance also.
