Cozy Corley

Bo-Bo 8669 – I Need True Love/ I Need A Woman

Eddie “Cozy” Corley was based in Hattiesburg Mississippi and around 1965 fell in with Hines for two releases.  One was a 45 by his wife Carolyn Faye which was released on Reginald and the other was this 45 released on Bo-Bo.  Hines appears to have got the titles of the songs confused on the labels of both 45s.  Corley’s “I Need A Woman” is likely supposed to be titled “That’s All I Need Baby” while Faye’s “That’s All I Need Baby” is more likely to be “Come On Home To Me” or something else.  These releases predate Corley’s Cozy & Malaco sides.  As a bandleader of the Blue Gardenia Band, Corley has had a long career playing all over Mississippi and beyond.  He has backed up many great artists and appears to be still going strong, now based out of Gulfport Mississippi.
